Museum retracing the history of the "Vieux Manoir", the town of Orbec, and the traditions and art of living of the Pays d’Auge.
A visit well worth your while, if only for the magnificent 16th-century half-timbered house, listed as a Monument Historique, which has housed the museum since the 1980s. Known as the "Vieux Manoir" (Old Manor), it once served as a wealthy tanner’s business on the ground floor, and as a home on the upper floor. As well as retracing the history of this building, the museum offers visitors the chance to learn more about local history, traditions and the art of living in the Pays d’Auge, in the unusual spirit of a cabinet of curiosities.
