Museum presenting the history and treasures of the town of Sligo and the region, as well as that of the family of the poet Yeats.

A museum dedicated to the history of County Sligo. There is the "ethnological" room which preserves the treasures of the town and the region. And the main hall dedicated to the town's prodigal family, the Yeats (William Butler Yeats the famous poet and playwright, and his brother, Jack Butler Yeats, painter). One would think that the city would celebrate the great poet with the most sophisticated means of museology. But it is not! Documents, books, photos (of the funeral), letters, etc. are lined up there as if they had existed for centuries..
