The permanent collection contains paintings and sculptures by Irish artists from the 18th to the 20th century. The layout - in the style of 18th-century drawing rooms, with paintings arranged one above the other, from floor to ceiling - lacks density and coherence. However, we can console ourselves with a picture rail featuring a fine collection of drawings and inks on paper. A pleasant park also adjoins the museum, which also hosts temporary exhibitions.
