HEAVY STAIGHT

The circular fort of Staigue, partly in ruins, was probably built around the 3rd or 4th century as a defensive stronghold for a local lord or king. It measures 27 m in diameter and its walls are almost 4 m thick. If there are other similar forts better preserved than Staigue Fort, few enjoy such a valuable location.
