CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL
Neoclassical Georgian cathedral, home to the tomb of James Rice, in the heart of Waterford.
Built in 1773 on the site of a 10th-century Viking church in the heart of the city, this neoclassical Georgian cathedral was designed by architect John Roberts. He was also responsible for many other buildings in Waterford. Its white and grey facade is a real eye-catcher. Inside is the tomb of James Rice, mayor of Waterford, who died in the 15th century. The nave is brightly lit by the building's yellow walls. The cathedral also hosts regular concerts throughout the year. For further information.
