KALMAR REGION MUSEUM (LÄNS MUSEUM)

This museum is a must for learning about the history of the region. This is mainly due to the exhibition about the Kronan, the best armed Swedish warship of the 17th century, whose wreck was discovered in 1980 off Öland. The wreck of the Kronan is not on display as such, but some of the 25,000 pieces that were recovered from the water provide an insight into life on board and the history of naval combat along the coast.
