The bergerie of Fårö, to the north of the island of Gotland, is a wooden cabin and a horizontal filling, covered with cladion, a plant of the wetlands. Such sheep pens, formerly frequent throughout Gotland, were used as shelters for sheep left all year round in pastures. In the territory of Skansen, there is a small flock of these sheep very close to the wild sheep, and even the sheep have horns. This species, which was endangered in the 1940 s, was able to recover, thanks, inter alia, to the Skansen initiative.
