Like many establishments in Gamla Stan, Zum Franziskaner is one of Stockholm's oldest restaurants. It's unique for its folkloric, classic bierhalle interior, dating from 1910. With its Germanic rather than Nordic feel, you can feel the German influence, the emblematic culture of good beer, a tradition that has traveled all the way to Sweden, where the long winter days were spent in the hubbub of pints and camaraderie.
