Fort used as army barracks, housing a museum with historical artifacts and offering superb sea views.
Built in the early 18th century by the British East India Company, it was at the time the most important British fortress in Southeast Asia. The building, in very good condition, is used as army barracks, and offers a superb view of the sea. The fort features a robust architecture with red brick walls. It was designed to withstand potential attacks and to serve as an administrative and commercial center. Today, it houses a museum displaying historical artifacts and information on the British colonial era.
