HOLY MARY CHURCH (MARIUKIRKJAN)

It is the Catholic church dedicated to the Virgin Mary and its Franciscan convent. In this Lutheran country, there are hardly 60 Catholics out of 48 000 inhabitants! It dominates the park, one reaches it by Mariugöta. The sisters are French-speaking and absolutely not cloistered. One must simply respect the silence of the place. Settled since the 1930's, they financed their church in 1987, in payment of their school which has largely developed to become the most important in the city.
