A site where you can discover traces of fortifications and the bases of sixteen Viking farmhouses, arranged in groups of four.

Fans of history and the Viking era will be pleased. Excavations have uncovered an entire Viking settlement near a large fortress dating from about 980 AD. Traces of fortifications and the bases of sixteen Viking farmsteads, clustered in groups of four, remain. A house from this period has recently been reconstructed by scientists using traditional construction methods: it is shaped like an overturned boat.
