Read moreSleeping here has to be earned: this large cabană in the heart of the Ceahlău mountains, at an altitude of 1750 m, is only accessible on foot. It takes around 5 hours to walk from the village of Ceahlău, 3 to 4 hours from the Durău station. The panorama from the top is spectacular, including a fine view of Mount Toaca. It's a friendly place for all hiking enthusiasts. Its dormitories for 6 to 14 people are very simple, but comfortable, and the meals served are very good. There's also a sauna and a traditional wooden bath.

Read moreAt the entrance to the small resort of Durău and on the edge of the forest, this verdant complex includes a guesthouse offering double rooms, as well as a group of charming wooden maisonettes for two people. You can also pitch your tent or park your motorhome here: the camping section has around sixty pitches. Facilities include a small restaurant, bar, terrace, barbecues and children's play area. A full-board package is available on request.
