Created under Ceaușescu, this fund supported by King Charles works to safeguard Transylvania's Saxon heritage. Among other projects, it renovates traditional Saxon houses, transformed into guesthouses for tourists, grouped together in the Experience Transylvania network. In Viscri, this network offers several of these, including Nos. 18 and 129. Full of simple charm, they both combine comfort with country-style decor. You'll have access to a kitchen, but you can also opt for local dishes prepared by your hosts.

This 1934 Saxon house, at the entrance to the village, houses a pleasant guest house. The 4 spacious bedrooms are furnished with painted wooden furniture (chests, beds, etc.). Guests have access to a wooden common room and a lovely garden with hammocks, deckchairs and a covered terrace around the bread oven. The owner has also renovated the adorable little Romanian-style house next door: it comprises a small vestibule, a bathroom and a single large room with a double bed, a cot and a stove.

Situated just below the fortified church, this typical house has a rich history, having been built in 1851. Recently refurbished in the purest Saxon tradition, it comprises six bedrooms and a small apartment with a living room and balcony with a magnificent view. It's worth noting that Viscri 44 is open all year round, unlike the vast majority of establishments in the village, which close in winter. Last but not least, the friendly owner Andreea speaks almost perfect French.
