Located on a narrow cobbled street in the citadel of Sighișoara, the Burg Hostel is a simple hostel set in a complex of medieval buildings. Just a 3-minute walk from the Blacksmiths' Tower and 1 km from Sighișoara railway station, it offers an ideal location for exploring the town. The sober dormitories and single rooms feature wooden floors and shared or en-suite bathrooms. Some also feature a TV and/or bunk beds. The hostel's restaurant offers an inclusive breakfast and has a sidewalk terrace. A pub regularly hosts concerts and seminars, and cultural programs are also offered. Burg Hostel offers free Wi-Fi and accepts pets. It's a child-friendly choice.

It's right next to the railway station. Several buses leave daily for Târgu Mureş, Sibiu, Făgăraş, Bistriţa, Agnita... There are also local buses for the surrounding villages. Not always convenient: for example, to get to Biertan, you'll have to go through Mediaş and change buses. The bus station is small and tickets are bought inside, in the store. Maxitaxis, which run between Bucharest (Strada Ritmului) - Braşov - Tărgu Mureş, stop here very frequently. Some international buses to France (with Romfour).

It's about 1 km from the center, on the other side of the river. Sighișoara is located on the line connecting Bucharest to Oradea (then Budapest, for certain routes). So it's easy to reach these towns, as well as Brașov (6 trains a day, 3h to 3h30 journey time), Sinaia (2 a day, 4h20 journey time), Mediaș (7 a day, 30 to 40 minutes journey time) and Cluj (3 a day, 3h30 journey time). A small local train, slow but offering pretty landscapes and villages, reaches Odorheiu Secuiesc, in the Sicilian country (3 per day, 1h45).

Located in the citadel, this Internet café, bar, cultural house and agency can provide you with information about the city, organise excursions in the surroundings, offer rental bikes or a guided tour of the city (by students speaking your language).
