SEA FRONT

To the west, in what used to be the residential area of the city, a fringe of beautiful colonial mansions of British architecture border a sea of brackish, slightly grayish water. They display their sumptuous Georgian architecture with deep wooden galleries, columns and scalloped balconies, in a harmonious and rare ensemble that looks like a movie set. Villa Magdalena, now owned by the Roman Church, Waterloo Guesthouse and Invercauld, are among the most beautiful and best maintained.
