Higiro, a commune of Mubuga, is located less than 6 km from Gitega, on a ridge overlooking the city to the east. Here, the ritualistic had two pens where they kept the Inakigabiro drum («La Dame du domaine»), next to a royal domain administered by a queen's rank. A cult was handed over to the drum by his local guards, who also had to provide two drums each year for the muganuro.Higiro's batimbo have enjoyed less popularity than those of Gishora since the independence of Burundi. However, a troop remained active in 2009.The walking tour is possible from Gitega, crossing two valleys in the northeast before climbing on the ridge. By car, from Gitega, you must first take the road to Karuzi on 3,5 km, then turn right onto a small runway that climbs to Higiro in 2,5 km. Tambourinaires can be found in the parish of Gitega, not far from the hospital, or in Mubuga on the other side of Higiro.
