INDEPENDENCE HALL OF KOREA

This huge museum, erected in 1987, celebrates liberation from Japanese colonization. It features huge statues and impressive buildings, despite their coldness. You can appreciate the significance of this dark historical period for Korea. You can also read an interesting page of sociology, in the chapter on "patriotism, myth and the invention of the nation". We have to walk for a long time amidst these impressive monuments, which make us feel very small.
