Here you can taste one of the greatest classics of Korean gastronomy, but which is also one of the specialties of Daejeon city: the tasty samgyetang. It is a ginseng broth in the middle of which an appetizing chicken (whole, so don't eat before) proudly sits. The latter contains a lot of delicious surprises, as it is filled with rice, jujubes, ginger, garlic... It is an indescribable flavour that surprises many western palates. Koreans enjoy it a lot in the summer because it is an energizing dish.

This modern restaurant specialises in donkaseu (돈까스), cousins of the cordon bleu and made of breaded pork. Here, they're dripping with cheese. You can order them on their own or with a maeun galbi jjim (매운갈비찜), a dish of beef and potato starch noodles accompanied by a spicy caramelized soy and sesame sauce. You can choose the quantity as well as the degree of spice (5 levels). An excellent address far from being dietetic but so greedy and tasty.

Of course, you have to wait in line before getting your table, but it's worth it. The locals will tell you that they eat some of the best kalguksu with clams (homemade noodle soup). Through a window you can even admire the cook preparing and cutting his noodles. We agree with word of mouth because the dish is really delicious (and perfect for cold winter days)! For the most discerning palates, add a little chilli pepper to spice up the dish. In addition, the atmosphere of the establishment is pleasantly local.

Here, one of the city's specialities is deliciously declined. You will discover and appreciate the flavour of muk (gelatine made from acorns). It can be eaten with rice, in a hot soup with seaweed and pork or in a cold broth flavoured with soya and sesame. A little extra of the establishment, the kitchen in the middle of the building is open to the guests' eyes. So you can salivate while watching the preparation of the dishes that will be (quickly) served to you. A good address, surprising and at a low price.
