Dolmens including the largest in Korea, measuring 7 m long and 2.6 m high, it is said to represent the tomb of a chief.
The island has a total of 120 dolmens, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including the largest in Korea. It is 7 m long and 2.6 m high. It would represent the tomb of a chief but the function of the megalith is not yet certain. As many of the dolmens have disappeared in the last 30 years due to urbanization and indifference, they should be protected by law and a dolmens park at Hwasung collects several of them.
