Small imperial Rhenish cathedral in red sandstone, built between 1130 and 1181 in the late Romanesque style of Worms.
St. Peter's Cathedral in Worms is the smallest of the three Rhenish imperial cathedrals and is one hundred years younger than the cathedrals in Speyer and Mainz. The church building, recognizable by its red sandstone exterior, was mostly built between 1130 and 1181. It is an outstanding example of late Romanesque architecture. The Gothic and Baroque additions are later.
