MAINZER DOM - MARTINUSDOM IN MAINZ

Built at the end of the ^10th century on Romanesque foundations, Mainz's St. Martin's Cathedral was subsequently modified, most recently in the ^17th and ^18th centuries. Inside, the building houses the tombs of the archbishop-electors, the tombstone of Fastrade (wife of Charlemagne) and the mausoleum dedicated to medieval poet Heinrich Frauenlob, the work of sculptor Ludwig Schwanthaler.
