POPPELSDORFER SCHLOSS

Poppelsdorf Castle remains one of Bonn's most charming landmarks. In the ^18th century, it was the residence of Elector Clemens August. It is now part of the university. In summer, classical music concerts are held in the arcaded courtyard. A small mineralogical museum is also open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. A beautiful botanical garden is open every day except Saturday. In winter, if you're lucky, you can see the world's largest flower (3 m), the Titanenwurz, which blooms every 3 years.
