SCHLOSS FALKENLUST - FALKENLUST CASTLE

Clemens Augustus built this hunting residence (much smaller than the previous castle) between 1729 and 1733. A great lover of falcons hunting, Augustus decided for this location, because the region was rich in herons, a privileged prey, precisely the hawks. As in Augustusburg, it was the architect François of Cuvilliés who took charge of the construction. And, as in Augustusburg, the rococo expresses itself in all its splendour! You will visit the cabinets all of gilded and dressed stucco - Mozart would have loved them in 1763 - and will know everything about hunting the falcons thanks to tiles and murals.
