This castle, classified as UNESCO World Heritage, was built between 1725 and 1768. This is a magnificent example of the th century rococo architecture. Undertaken for the Prince-elector and archbishop of Cologne, Clemens August, the interior decoration was entrusted to a French architect of the Bavarian court, François de Cuvilliés. After the visit, enjoy the gardens that offer a pleasant walk in summer. A 20 minute walk through the park you can access the second castle, the Jagdschloss Falkenlust (for the tired, pick up your car, and follow the indication "Falkenlust").

Le style rococo est poussé à son maximum. Je conseille vraiment la visite avec les audioguide très très bien réalisé.
