BISMARCK MONUMENT
Bronze statue created by Johann Röttger in 1899 for the first Reich Chancellor, near the Königsallee.
In Germany, there are several hundred monuments to Otto von Bismarck, the Reich's first chancellor and a true national hero, including this one in Düsseldorf. It stands 7 meters high, including a 3-meter statue. Designed by Johann Röttger in 1899, it was created by sculptor August Bauer. It stands near the Königsallee. The monument originally stood elsewhere in the city at the time of its inauguration, but was moved here, right next to another monument dedicated to Wilhelm I.
