RADSCHLÄGER-SKULPTUR

They are found everywhere in Düsseldorf, the carvings of children making the wheel. When Düsseldorf became a fully fledged city, the children made the wheel to express their joy, and this tradition of the Middle Ages was maintained. Meanwhile, the Düsseldorfer Radschläger became one of the city's symbols. Since 1937, in June, there is even a wheel competition (Radschlägerwettbewerb) for children.
