SPRENGEL MUSEUM

If you have only a short time for visits, and if you like contemporary art, exploring this museum is a must. Opened in 1979, expanded in 1992, this museum of bold architecture is very well designed and its collection is exceptional: the years 1910, 1920 and 1930 are remarkably represented by Picasso, Klee, Malevitch, Niki de Saint Phalle, Marc Chagall, and it owns the famous Merzbau of Kurt Schwitters, citizen of Hanover until his forced emigration in 1937. Also surrealists, Dadaists and Expressionists.
