CHURCHES

Many spires dominate the city. The old town is dotted with churches marked by the simplicity and clarity of their lines. Apart from four remarkable Gothic achievements: St Johannis (adjacent to the Markt), St-Jacobi (between Weender Strasse and Jüdenstrasse), St-Albani (Albaniplatz) and Sankt-Pauliner (Paulinerstrasse, now university library), all three of the th century, the golden age of commerce in Göttingen.
