This district is located 5 minutes walk from Böttcherstrasse. The large Sankt Johann church, all made of red bricks, is next door. One can imagine the look of Bremen in the past through this maze of alleys dotted with old houses. They are the last vestiges of the medieval Bremen district. Most of these craftsmen and fishermen's houses date back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Some of them, built during the Renaissance, have been meticulously rehabilitated. The house of the Ship, the most famous residence in the district, rue de Satvendamm, dates back to 1630, the oldest buildings are the Brasilhaus, which dates from 1402, and the Packau, preserved in its original state, which dates back to 1401. With half-timbered houses, this district focuses on only two or three narrow streets and is not lacking in charm. A showcase for Bremen's tourism, it includes cafés, an English pub, restaurants and shops. You won't miss the unique "special plush toy" shop at the end of the main street.

You can also fill up on sweets in the delicious pastry shop in the middle of Schnoor Street. The latter marks the beginning of passages leading to beautiful backyards and charming little tea rooms.
