The museum is a ten-minute walk from the Schnoor, in the heart of a small park outside the "Attenwall".

The collection of this Fine Arts Museum is of first choice: not only are there some of the most beautiful German prints, but also some of the most important works of the 15th to 20th centuries, as well as Van Gogh's The Poppy Field and German Expressionist paintings such as Kirchner and Schmidt-Rottluff.

There are also works by French impressionist painters such as Manet and Cézanne.
