A modern and charming café serving Middle Eastern specialties.

In the heart of the Jewish quarter, this café serves Middle Eastern, French and international specialties: mezze, chakchouka, falafel, grilled haloumis. In the afternoon, people come here to taste homemade cakes. The Leonar is very famous (and taken by storm on weekends) for its breakfast. The setting is charming, with its large Viennese mirrors and rows of books. It's also a great place to have a glass of wine in the evening in a quiet and intimate setting, while reading Joseph Roth... or your copy of the Petit Futé, of course!

Ich hatte ein Bagel mit Lachs, der sehr einfach geschmeckt hat. Es war wahnsinnig uncreative und dafür sehr teuer, da passte meines Erachtens das Preis Leistungsverhältnis nicht.

The design and cosy atmosphere are positives. However, the good impression quickly diminishes due to the rather lacklustre service, which reluctantly takes an order, smashes mediocre wine spritzers on the table, and displays the friendliness of a traffic warden when it comes to payment.
There are better alternatives on Grindelhof. Try Abaton or Aendre.

Had a lovely brunch here. Got the falafel plate and the pita was a bit stale but other than that it was delicious. Portions are quite generous which makes the prices worth it. Vibes are good as well
