DOM UND KIRCHE ST. SEVERUS

The cathedral dominates the whole of Domplatz. From the square, 70 steps lead up to this magnificent edifice. In the ^12th century, work began on a late-Romanesque cathedral. The choir, one of the great works of German Gothic architecture, dates from the ^14th century. In addition to the choir's superb stained glass windows, there is also the beautiful bronze sculpture of Wolfram, who carries the light of faith through the darkness as he awaits Christ's return.
