HOTEL ELEPHANT ^{* * * * *}

A real favorite! This is placed in the heart of the action on Am Markt, the market place. Do you know why animals were used as a sign 300 years ago? The vast majority of the population could not read, so they were used as a reference point during an appointment. The establishment is a page of history in itself, it opened its doors in 1660. The entrance is small, but then you are very pleasantly surprised with a huge space in the centre, very bright thanks to its glass roof, and decorated with a grand piano, works of art, paintings and shelves full of books on the walls. The tone is set: we no longer want to leave it. The rooms are very elegant in shades of white and grey or turquoise blue, bright, calm and very comfortable. We've thought of everything.

The hotel is also equipped with a small warm tea-bar-snack lounge and the famous Anna Amalia restaurant, superb. In high season, the hotel organizes jazz and other music festivals and cultural events taking place in its patio, under the glass roof, open to all. Excellent welcome and very good value for money in this category.
