NIKOLAI KIRCHE - ST. NICHOLAS CHURCH

Still a late Gothic masterpiece of Red Brick, typical of Hanseatic cities. Under the protection of Saint-Nicolas, it is the church of the sailors and travellers… With its 37 m high, the nave of the church Saint-Nicolas is the fourth largest in Germany. The imposing building came out of land in the th century. He suffered some damage following a hurricane in 1703 and part of the walls was rebuilt in baroque style. It is now a Lutheran-Evangelical church, placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2002.
