LEIF ERIKSON PARK & ROSE GARDEN
Rose garden in Leif Erikson Park, on the shores of Lake Superior, ideal to visit in the summer
Forty thousand varieties of roses are gathered in this park, located on the shores of Lake Superior. Founded in 1965 by a Duluth resident originally from Latvia, the park was inspired by European rose gardens. Summer is the best time to admire the flowers. There's also an impressive statue of Viking explorer Leif Erikson, a major figure in Minnesota's Nordic heritage. The park, bordered by the Lakewalk, offers a peaceful stopover with a breathtaking view of the lake.
