FISHER BUILDING
Building as high in Chicago with avant-garde architecture housing luxury condos
Commissioned by Lucas Fisher, who made his fortune in the paper industry, the Fisher Building was built by the architectural firm D.H. Burnham & Company. Never before had Chicago seen a building so tall. The interest of the Fisher Building lies in its architectural avant-gardism, the salmon color of its cladding and the detail of the decorative motifs near the entrance - a latticework of fish, shells and crabs, a nod to the sponsor Fisher. Since 2013, the building has housed luxury apartments.
