THE PALMER HOUSE
Superb lobby of the Palmer House in Chicago, rebuilt as the most original hotel with 2,268 rooms.
Built by Potter Palmer for his wife, "The Palmer" was destroyed only 13 days after its inauguration by the great fire of October 9, 1871. Palmer asked for the building to be rebuilt immediately afterwards, making it one of the most original hotels of the time. Between 1923 and 1925, the managers of the Palmer decided to triple its height, going from 7 floors to 25. This brought the total number of rooms to 2,268. In 1945, Conrad Hilton bought the hotel for 20 million dollars, which still operates under this name today.
