MONK'S PUB
A pub where beer flows freely, of course, but in an almost studious atmosphere - at least in the afternoon. It is surrounded by ancient books, and the whole is like a monastery library. Old barrels, recovered from all over the world, serve as ceiling decorations, and the dark wooden furniture further enhances the old school atmosphere. Away from the usual Loop lunatics. After 6pm, tourists mingle with Chicagoans in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. A good address, which offers nearly two hundred kinds of beer!
