This iconic Wicker Park bookshop is a veritable labyrinth, with thousands of second-hand books crammed into 3 floors.

This is one of Chicago's largest and oldest bookstores. A veritable institution in the Wicker Park district, it stocks a large number of second-hand books (70,000 in all, it seems!) in a somewhat labyrinthine setting that invites you to stroll around. The clientele is a mix of young and old, and the staff are friendly and well-versed in literature. A small section of French books is available. This is THE bookshop most frequented by Chicagoans, who love to linger in the stacks of this three-storey establishment.
