ART GALLERY OF NOVA SCOTIA

Open for more than a century, this is the largest art gallery in the Atlantic Provinces with a permanent collection of more than 18,000 historical and contemporary works of visual art. Nova Scotia artists are obviously prominent, including folk painter Maud Lewis (1901-1970). Note that there is a second gallery in Yarmouth with different exhibits from the one in Halifax.
