This short interpretive trail has spectacular views of the valley.
This short interpretive trail through the forest sheds light on the many fires that have ravaged the park over the years, particularly the one caused by lightning in July 1968. Several signs explain the facts and the beneficial role fire has played in changing the landscape of Kootenay National Park and in forest regeneration. Wildlife abounds along the Firewood Trail and views of the valley are spectacular. The trail is wheelchair accessible.
