A former craftsmen's village featuring painters, sculptors, basket-makers and others who can be found in Pointe-Noire
The artisans' village has disappeared in favor of black gold and the construction of Pointe-Noire's new port. With no way of finding a new home, artists move around as opportunities arise: at the time of our visit, painters were exhibiting in front of the central post office, and other artists in front of the Bon Bœuf butcher's shop. If you find one of them, he'll be able to tell you where the other artisans are. As in all African craft markets, you'll have to negotiate to get the best price. Let yourself be taken in!

The maintenance of the village and its straw huts leaves something to be desired. It is threatened by work of extension of the port of pointe-noire... T is it disappear?
