By boat, you can go to the Source-Salée beach, close to the port, to Coral (about 25 minutes) and especially to the Cayemites Islands. La Petite-Cayemite, which is not inhabited, is 45 minutes by motor canoe (200 GD) and its beach of Anse-Blanche is worth the crossing. Anse-du-Nord, at Grande-Cayemite, is available in about 30 minutes.

Dans cette région le paysage est magnifique mais la population vit dans des conditions très difficiles. La pauvreté des autochtones prend aux tripes, le manque de nourriture et la maladie (Le choléra est un fléau) vous sautent aux yeux et malgré cela les habitants vous accueillent, après une période d'hésitation tout de même, chaleureusement. Quelques villes côtières sont très vivantes et colorées.
A explorer mais pas en touriste "américain".
