IGLESIA DE LA TIRANA

In the Plaza de Armas you can find most of the monuments of the small village, where the church built between 1872 and 1886 stands out. The present church is the work of Father Friedrich. It was built at the beginning of the century, a few years after the earthquakes of 1866 and 1877 that destroyed the previous one. This one must have been built in the sixteenth century by the famous Father Rendón. The present church is made of wood filled with calamine. Its main altar is, of course, decorated with a representation of the Virgen del Carmen.
