The Shri Kedareshwara Swamy Temple was built by King Hoysala Veera Ballala II (1173-1220) and his queen Ketaladevi. The main deity is Shiva in the form of Ishvara, meaning "Supreme Lord". Although less spectacular than the neighboring Hoysalesvara temple, it's nevertheless well worth a visit: it also boasts a compact structure, delicate carvings and you'll be able to enjoy the site without the crowds. The entrance to the shrine is closed, but the janitor will open the door for you; a small tip is most welcome.
