A white temple dedicated to Shiva, located near Chowpatty beach and exuding a serenity that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of the city
Near the beach of Chowpatty, do not miss this white temple dedicated to Shiva, one of the oldest of the city. Here Shiva is worshipped as the Lord of Acacias(babool in Hindi). If the deity was consecrated in the 12th century, the temple was built only in 1780, then enlarged in 1890. It was then one of the highest buildings in the city. After passing through an imposing gate, you will have to climb a long staircase to reach the Balbunath Mandir. The place exudes a serenity that contrasts with the urban tumult outside.

Temple perché où l'on accède par une série d'escalier (possibilité de prendre l'ascenseur). Population principalement brahmane faisant preuve de grande ferveur religieuse.
