Mumbai tour guide from Fort George and C.S.T Station, Flora Fountain, Veer Nariman Road, Bhika Behram Well, etc.

This district was the heart of the city in the 18thcentury . It owes its name to Fort George, built by the British East India Company and demolished in 1862. The walk begins at C.S.T. Station, formerly Victoria Terminus. Head south down Dr Dadabah Naoroji Road. Take time to admire the Art Deco buildings along the way. You'll then come to the Flora Fountain. Built in 1864, it's an ode to the Roman goddess Flora and a tribute to spring.

Start your journey down Veer Nariman Road towards Bhika Behram Well, a sacred freshwater well. This place is highly revered by the Parsi, Zoroastrian community. On your left, Karmaveer Bhaurao Marg and the Oval Maidan. High Court, Rajabai Clock Tower and Mumbai University to start with. Turn left onto Fuller Road, then right onto Library Marg; you're close to the David Sassoon Library and Elphinstone College, one of Mumbai's oldest schools, built in the Venetian Gothic style in 1835 and home to the national archives.

Back on Karmaveer Bhaurao Marg, past the Old Secretariat, the former home of British governors. Up Madame Cama Road, you reach the Institute of Science and the National Gallery of Modern Art. Take SP Mukherjee Chowk towards the Prince of Wales Museum and the Bombay Natural History Society, to Saint Andrew's Church. Go down K Dubash Marg, turn right at Master Road. A side street leads to the Kennesth Eliyahoo Synagogue, not far from the Bombay Stock Exchange on Dalal Street. You can visit the shrine - provided you cover your head. Donations for the restoration of the blue synagogue are welcome. At the end of Dadal Street, Mumbai Samachar Marg and Horniman Circle. As you walk around Horniman Circle, you'll notice the Asiatic Society of Mumbai building, a superb library containing ancient manuscripts, and the sculptural St. Thomas Cathedral. The first Anglican church, it was erected in 1718. Take a stroll through the narrow streets and stop off at one of the many small Parsi cafés. Finish your tour by walking back down Veer Nariman Road to the Flora Fountain. Here you can take a break in one of the many Parsi cafés.
