THE ROYAL OPERA HOUSE MUMBAI

Close to Girgaon Chowpatty, it is the only opera house in the country still in operation. Built in 1912, it was initially devoted entirely to operas, then it programmed films when the first talkies appeared on the Indian scene in the 1930s. The theater closed for over thirty years before being completely restored and renovated in the early 2000s.
