YADAVINDRA GARDENS
Gardens designed in the century and featuring 7 tiers of terraces linked by canals, an ideal spot for a picnic
In the 17th century, Nawab Fadai Khan designed the Pinjore gardens, which feature seven tiers of terraces linked by canals. He supervised the construction of the various palaces: the Sheesh Mahal (Glass Palace), the Rang Mahal (Painted Palace) and the Jal Mahal (Water Palace). After the departure of the Mughals, the garden was abandoned and gradually overgrown. Later, Maharaja Yadavindra Singh of Patiala had it restored. This is said to be the place where the Pandavas resided after twelve years of exile. The Himalayas can be seen on the horizon.
