ROCK-CUT JAIN MONUMENTS

At the foot of the fort, there are some absolutely remarkable sites: five groups of Jain monuments carved in the rock, built between the ^7th and ^15th centuries. Gopachal is the most impressive site with 18 finely carved tirthankara statues on the cliffside, some reaching 5 meters in height. The other notable site is Colossi, which also has statues nestled in caves. These two rocky sites are not to be missed under any circumstances. Three other sites of lesser importance are in the vicinity.
